Athletics department asks fans to donate unused mens basketball tickets

December 18, 2001

With students off campus and many fans out of town for the holidays, MSU athletics officials are asking men’s basketball season-ticket-holders to donate their tickets for use by local youth organizations.

The Athletic Ticket Office in Jenison Field House will be redestributing tickets sent to the university. Ticket holders are encouraged to mail or bring in unused tickets at least two days prior to the game.

“We understand people are making holiday plans that may create conflicts, so we wanted to provide a customer service and do all we can to ensure that we have a supportive home-court advantage,” MSU athletics director Clarence Underwood said in a written statement.

The men’s basketball team takes on Oakland on Wednesday and Seton Hall on Saturday at Breslin Center.

The team sealed its place in Big Ten record books Monday by defeating the University of North Carolina-Asheville, bringing the home winning streak to 51, a new conference record.
