l A VCR was taken from a Berkey Hall classroom Tuesday morning, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A female reported a suspicious man walking around the parking lot of the building. Police later saw a man fitting the description walking down Grand River Avenue with a VCR in his arms. The case will be forwarded to the prosecutor.l A laptop computer valued at $5,000 was taken from the Psychology Research building, McGlothian-Taylor said. The computer was taken between Sept. 21 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. A male employee reported the computer had been taken, along with 20 blank CDs valued at $10. There were no signs of damage or forced entry. All the locks on doors of the building were changed this summer. Police are investigating.l A 20-year-old female student reported receiving nuisance phone calls, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student has been receiving three or four calls per day in her Spartan Village apartment, she said. The caller has never spoken, but she could hear soft music and breathing. Many of the phone calls have been recorded on her voice mail. Police are investigating.l A male student was cited for using marijuana and violating a university weapons ordinance, McGlothian-Taylor said. An Armstrong Hall mentor smelled the smoke and called for police. After searching the room, police discovered a set of brass knuckles and a BB gun. The items were confiscated. The case will be forwarded to the prosecutor.
