Police briefs 09/19/01

l A 19-year-old female student reported she had nonconsensual sexual relations with a male acquaintance, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The male student helped the intoxicated female walk home from a party early Sunday morning, then took her to his Holmes Hall room to wait for her roommate. The female said she blacked out and remembers waking up to the male taking her clothes off and beginning to have intercourse before she blacked out again. The male student said the actions were consensual and she was an active participant. The female student does not wish to press charges, but the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.l A cellular phone valued at about $150 was taken from a classroom in the Natural Science Building Thursday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The 19-year-old student left the phone in the classroom, and when he returned later, the phone was gone. Police have no suspects.
