Universitys actions disappoint writer

With the economy slowing down, the number of job offers for graduating seniors (even in engineering) is limited, which means money will not be as plentiful as when times are better. For that reason, this 8.9 percent tuition increase hits us seniors twice as hard.

Most of us are old enough to be paying for our own college education; therefore we dive farther into debt. What good is an inflation cap on our tuition rate if it can be removed at any time? It is nothing more than a promise that can’t be kept. This university is filled with a bunch of promises that are nothing but words. They have no problem extracting every possible penny out of our already low bank accounts.

I think it is time (although highly unlikely) for the administration to consider the needs of the students for once. Until this university becomes an academic environment and not a business, it will never be considered a premier university.
