Police briefs 07/23/01

A laptop was reported stolen between 8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Tuesday from a computer lab in the Engineering Building. A 22-year-old female student left the lab, and when she returned it was gone, MSU police Sgt. Matt Merony said.The laptop is valued at $2,500 and police have no suspects.

  • An MSU employee had a Palm Pilot stolen about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Merony said.Someone entered the employee’s unlocked office in the Natural Science Building and stole the device, which is valued at $230. Police have no suspects.
  • A male MSU employee had a cell phone stolen between 1:30 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. Thursday from outside the Communication Arts and Sciences Building. Merony said the employee left the cell phone on top of his car and entered the building. When he returned, it was gone. There are no suspects.
  • A cell phone was reported stolen between 12:30 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. Saturday in Anthony Hall. Merony said the phone was left on a bench and the phone’s owner went into a locker room. The phone is valued at $250. There are no suspects.
  • Between noon and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, two males stole two textbooks from the MSU Bookstore, located in the International Center.The two men, a 24-year-old and a 29-year-old, were later caught in East Lansing, Merony said.
