Police briefs 05/31/01

A 28-year-old female student reported she received approximately 100 harassing phone calls between April 22 and Tuesday.The student also reported she was the victim of almost $3,800 in credit card fraud, MSU police Sgt. Jennifer Brown said.Police have identified a past boyfriend of the student as the main suspect.

  • The staff of Snyder Hall reported the building had been the site of a break-in between Friday and Monday.An unidentified suspect or suspects attempted to break in or successfully broke in to five rooms within the hall, Brown said. An estimated $575 was stolen from the rooms successfully broken into. Damage to the door moldings from the attempted break-ins is valued at about $100.
  • About $182 worth of plants were taken from the west entrance of Bessey Hall between Friday and Tuesday. Police have no suspects.
  • Physical Plant staff members reported a bench was stolen from Morrill Hall between Thursday and Tuesday.The 6-foot bench is valued at $200. Police have no suspects.
  • A student maintenance worker in Erickson Hall reported a vending machine had been broken into.The larceny took place between midnight and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The money contained within the machine was taken, Brown said. The value of the larceny is not known. Police have no suspects.
