I have often heard about the cops here in East Lansing being corrupt. I have heard so many stories and once it happened to me. I had thought it was an accident and maybe a misunderstanding. One would think times would change, but I guess I was wrong and would advise everyone to watch out for East Lansing cops, especially the ones on campus.

Yesterday, I had a court date and was appealing a ticket that shouldn’t have been given to me. You see, the cop was about 150 meters away from me with his car facing the other way and he was leaning on the car of a girl who he had just stopped. Now, the cop claimed he saw me making an improper turn at a stoplight, even though he was too busy talking with the girl.

Yesterday in court the cop lied to the judge, saying he was following right behind me the whole time. Because the only witness who was with me graduated and is in Grand Rapids, the judge didn’t believe me even though I offered to give him the witness’ number. With my friends having terrible experiences in formal hearings here in East Lansing, I just want to go back home to New York. Cops here have to get a life.
