Police briefs 04/12/01

A 22-year-old student reported her Cherry Lane apartment broken into.The student told police someone removed a window screen and entered the apartment between noon Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. Nothing was missing, but the student said she saw footprints inside the apartment.Damage to the screen is estimated at $40. Police have no suspects but an investigation is pending.

  • A 20-year-old female student reported her Diamondback bicycle stolen from the racks on the west side of the Union.The bike was taken between 10 a.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday, Willis said. The bike’s lock was found at the scene and did not appear to have been tampered with.The bike is valued at $200. Police have no suspects.
  • Twenty-five packages of insulation were stolen from the construction site of the Biomedical and Physical Sciences Facility.The insulation was taken between Friday and Monday from a locked storage shed, Willis said. A shed door had been pried open to gain entry to the building.Losses are valued at $345. Police have no suspects.
  • A 20-year-old student reported two pairs of sunglasses and 10 CDs stolen from her vehicle.The vehicle was parked in Ramp 2, at the Wharton Center, between Saturday and Monday, Willis said. The driver’s side plastic window of the student’s Jeep had been punched out, he said.Losses are estimated at $235. Police have no suspects.
  • A 20-year-old female student reported her Schwinn bicycle stolen from a North Case Hall bike room.The bicycle was taken from the sixth-floor bike room between April 3 and Friday, Willis said. The student didn’t remember if she had put a lock on it.Losses are valued at $300.
  • A Domino’s Pizza deliveryperson reported a pizza bag and pizza stolen Thursday.The driver left the delivery vehicle unlocked while parked near Bailey Hall, Willis said.The bag and pizza are valued at $137. Police have no suspects.
