Police briefs 04/04/01

Two separate aggravated assaults occurred in East Lansing on Saturday, according to the East Lansing Police Department.A 22-year-old St. Claire Shores man and a 24-year-old Clarkston man both remain hospitalized following the incidents.East Lansing police responded to a fight Saturday at the corner of Abbott Road and Saginaw Highway, where they determined the St. Claire Shores man had been struck in the head.The victim suffered a serious head injury and is in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. A suspect has been identified in the case and charges will be sought later this week.The other incident occurred at 11:45 p.m. on Woodmere Avenue by East Grand River Avenue. The Clarkston man is in intensive care at a local hospital with a fractured skull after being struck in the head.
