Police briefs 03/16/01

A 21-year-old male student reported his car stereo stolen while his vehicle was parked in Lot 89, the commuter lot, at Mount Hope Road and Farm Lane.The theft occurred between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. The driver’s side window had been smashed to gain entry to the car.The stolen stereo is valued at $200 and damage is estimated at $1,000. Police have no suspects.

  • A 19-year-old female student reported her car broken into while parked in Lot 75, near Kalamazoo Street and Harrison Avenue.The driver’s side window was smashed and a portable CD player was stolen between 2 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Wednesday, Willis said.The CD player is valued at $200 and damage is estimated at $200.
  • A 19-year-old female student reported her purse missing after she forgot it in the Union Food Court.The student left the purse behind when she left the food court at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Willis said. When she returned at 9 p.m., the purse was gone.The purse and its contents are valued at $95. Police have no suspects.
