Police briefs 03/15/01

A 20-year-old female student reported her car broken into while parked in Lot 29, near Akers Hall, between 10 p.m. Monday and noon Tuesday.The passenger side window was broken out and the steering column had been damaged, MSU police Lt. Penny Fischer said. The car had been locked.Damage is estimated at $1,500. Police have no suspects.

  • A 23-year-old male student reported his Giant bicycle stolen from a bike rack near the Agricultural Engineering Building.The bike was taken between March 1 and Tuesday, Fischer said. The student told police it had been secured to the rack with a U-lock, which was also taken.The bike is valued at $250. Police have no suspects.
  • The Instructional Media Center reported a television and VCR stolen from a third-floor Case Hall room. The items were taken between Feb. 15 and Feb. 28, Fischer said. The room was not locked.The items are valued at $800. Police have no suspects.
  • A 21-year-old female student reported her purse missing from an IM Sports-Circle gym.The purse was taken from the gym between 9:15 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. Monday, Fischer said.The purse and its contents, which included a cellular phone, are valued at $236. Police have no suspects.
  • A 19-year-old male student reported his DVD player stolen from his East Wilson Hall room during spring break.The student told police he left his room locked when he was gone between March 3 and Sunday, Fischer said. Police found no signs of forced entry.The DVD player is valued at $300. Police have no suspects.
