Police briefs 03/01/01

A 20-year-old male student reported his 1994 Nissan car stolen Tuesday from Lot 83 on Service Road near Harrison Avenue.The student told police he parked the car in the lot at 4 p.m. Tuesday and found it missing when he returned at 9 p.m., MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. He told police he has both sets of keys to the car.The vehicle is valued at $4,500 and police have no suspects.

  • A Brody Complex food manager called police after seeing a 19-year-old male student taking food from the kitchen.The student was employed by the cafeteria and was seen taking items between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, Willis said.Complex management intend to pursue charges against the student, Willis said.
  • A 19-year-old student living in Spartan Village Apartments reported someone attempted to put sugar in his car’s gas tank.The student told police he noticed the problem when he left the complex Tuesday to go get gas, Willis said. The student’s car was parked at the apartments from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday until 2:30 p.m.No damage was reported to the vehicle.The student told police he does have a suspect and an investigation is pending.
