Vigil was pro-life, not pro-choice

I’m confused. On Jan. 24, The State News published an article that covered the MSU Students for Life vigil at Beaumont Tower (“Abortion vigil stirs student debate,” SN 1/24).

The vigil was held by pro-life students Jan. 23 in memory of the millions of lives that have been lost since abortion became legal in 1973. There were a few pro-choice students also present at the vigil. And, yes, they had a right to be there.

But the main focus of the vigil was pro-life, not pro-choice.

The pro-choice students wouldn’t have even been there if the MSU Students for Life hadn’t planned the vigil. So why was the huge picture on the front page of The State News of the pro-choice protesters? Why was the small picture of the pro-life students?

The article that was written was fair. The problem I have is the unfair photo coverage of the protesters and not the participants.

Please keep in mind in the future what the main focus of the article is on.
