Police briefs 02/22/01

Two vehicles with the driver’s side window broken out were discovered by police Tuesday parked in Ramp 4 at the Kellogg Center.The vehicles were found by an officer on routine patrol at 11 a.m., MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.One of the vehicle’s owners was contacted by police and said a $20 CD had been stolen. The other owner had not yet been reached, Willis said.Damage to the vehicles is estimated at $300. Police have no suspects.

  • A 21-year-old female student reported her car had been severely scratched while parked in Lot 22 near Owen Graduate Hall.The damage occurred between 2 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, Willis said. Damage is estimated at $400. Police have no suspects.
  • A 19-year-old male mentor in Wonders Hall reported derogatory remarks written on his door in permanent marker, Willis said.Damage is estimated at $100. Police have no suspects, but an investigation is pending.
  • A 20-year-old male student parked near Cherry Lane Apartments on Tuesday night reported his rear window broken.The student had been attending the men’s basketball game against Indiana and found a portion of his pickup’s rear window broken upon return, Willis said. Damage is estimated at $150. Police have no suspects.
  • Custodians in the Engineering Building reported two stainless steel trash carts stolen between Saturday and Monday.The carts had been last seen Saturday in a B-wing hallway, Willis said. The items are valued at $400.
