Police briefs 02/21/01

A 56-year-old man reported his boots stolen from an IM Sports-Circle locker Monday while he was working out.The man had placed the boots in an unlocked locker while he exercised between noon and 1:30 p.m., MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The boots are valued at $150. Police have no suspects.

  • A 20-year-old male student reported his coat and cellular phone stolen from the Business College Complex.The incident, which occurred between Jan. 14 and Jan. 15, was reported Monday, Willis said. The phone had been in a coat pocket.The student told police he hadn’t reported the incident because he didn’t believe anything could be done about the theft, Willis said. However, insurance companies often require police reports to reimburse for thefts.The stolen items are valued at $250. Police have no suspects.
  • A 19-year-old female student reported her bicycle stolen Monday from a rack near Erickson Hall.The bike, which was taken between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., had not been locked to the rack, Willis said.The bike is valued at $230. Police have no suspects.
