Police briefs 02/16/01

Three large imitation trees were reported stolen from a Campbell Hall conference room.The plants were taken between Feb. 1 and Tuesday, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. The conference room door appeared to have been pried open, he said. The plants are valued at $150 each, and damage is estimated at $100.Police have no suspects. An investigation is pending.

  • A 36-year-old female visitor to campus reported her car broken into Thursday.The woman parked her car near Birch and Kalamazoo streets between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Willis said. A window appeared to have been pried open and the driver’s door window was broken, he said.A large travel bag, which contained the woman’s wallet, $250 and personal items, was stolen.Total losses are estimated at $631. Damage is estimated at $300. Police have no suspects.
