Police briefs 02/07/01

A 19-year-old female student was cited for using marijuana Monday in her Armstrong Hall room.An MSU police officer noticed the smell of marijuana while on foot patrol inside the dorm and a police dog search brought officers to the student’s door, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. The student admitted to police she had smoked marijuana with several friends about two hours earlier.Police seized several pieces of marijuana paraphernalia. The case has been forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office.

  • A 22-year-old male student reported his bike stolen from a rack near the Packaging Building.The 22-speed Schwinn mountain bicycle was taken between Friday and Monday, Willis said. It had been locked to the rack with a chain lock. The lock was also reported missing. The bike is valued at $800 and police have no suspects.
  • A 42-year-old man reported his car tire punctured and driver’s side door keyed after he parked the vehicle from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday in Lot 62, near IM Sports-West, Willis said. Damage is estimated at $1,000. Police have no suspects.
