MSU police officers cited several students Wednesday for taking police barricades.The barricades were discovered in the windows of four Brody Complex rooms during a routine foot patrol, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said. Residents of the rooms admitted to police they had taken the barricades.Police recovered five barricades and a police cone from the rooms. The students were ticketed for misuse of police property.
A 20-year-old student was arrested Wednesday on several outstanding warrants after he drove his car off a tow truck that was impounding the vehicle for unpaid parking tickets.The student returned to his car that had been parked in front of West Holmes Hall as it was being lifted onto a tow truck, Willis said. He then jumped into the car and drove it off the truck, damaging the truck clamps attached to the car’s front wheels.Damage to the tow truck is estimated at $450. MSU police stopped the student soon after the incident and discovered three warrants from three police departments for the man.The student was arrested and taken to the East Lansing jail until his arraignment on those warrants Wednesday, Willis said.
