Police briefs 12/01/00

A media photographer reported his camera and zoom lens stolen from Breslin Student Events Center while preparing to shoot the men’s basketball game Wednesday evening, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The photographer placed the camera and lens on the bleachers next to several other cameras. When he returned about five minutes later they were gone.The equipment was valued at $600. Police have no suspects.

  • MSU police officers were called to Campbell Hall to remove a man sleeping in the lobby around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Willis said.Students living in the building called officers to report the man was sleeping in the front lobby. Officers arrived and ticketed the man for vagrancy and escorted him from campus.
  • Two vehicles parked in Lot 89, the commuter lot at Farm Lane and Mount Hope Road, were broken into between Sunday and Wednesday, Willis said.A pickup truck had its driver’s side window smashed in and the CD deck stolen. The incident caused $100 in damage to the window. The CD deck was valued at $200.A second vehicle belonging to a 19-year-old male student was reported with the driver’s side rear window broken out and a portable CD player removed.The vehicle sustained $400 in damage to the window. The CD player was valued at $50.Police have no suspects in either incident.
