DTN does not deserve criticism

In spite of all of the criticism DTN Management Co. receives, I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have lived in East Lansing for the past five years and it is, without a doubt, the most respectable leasing agency in the city - in comparison to its competitors. Students may not have much experience living outside of the nest, so to speak, and, therefore, much to their chagrin, are faced with the consequences of their actions.

The truth is, what is acceptable and what is expected from the management company, as well as the tenants, is spelled out in fine detail in each and every lease. There is no reason why Angela Brown (“Let the renter beware of housing,” SN 11/28) should be shocked by the fact that her “loaner” car was towed. That is the entire concept of permit parking. Why would one assume the resident manager would be able to decipher whether a resident has a different car for a short period?

And, as for the baseless accusations made by Brown claiming her car was singled out, cars come and go so rapidly in the parking lots, who is to say the supposed illegally parked cars arrived after her car was towed? The process of towing a car can sometimes take a couple of hours. First, the car must be ticketed by East Lansing’s Parking and Code Enforcement even before the towing service is called. These people are only human and subject to human error.

To all the employees of DTN Management, from the maintenance men to the owners, I must say thank you. Your hard work and patience does not go unnoticed, nor is it unappreciated, contrary to what some customers are persuaded to believe.
