Police briefs 11/30/00

A 20-year-old female student was arrested for domestic assault inside her Cherry Lane apartment Tuesday evening, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.At 7:30 p.m., the woman returned to her home where her mother had been baby-sitting her child when an argument about family issues began, Willis said.Police said the woman was arrested for punching her mother once in the face. Her case has been forwarded to Ingham County prosecutors for review. During the fight the mother broke the large picture window at the front of the residence, Willis said.Damage to the window is estimated at $300. No medical attention was sought.

  • A 37-year-old teaching assistant received a threatening e-mail from a student at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Willis said.The female teaching assistant told police the male student wrote in the e-mail that he would cause her physical harm if she didn’t pay more attention to him in class and ask him more questions, he said.The case is under investigation.
