Police briefs 11/29/00

A 19-year-old male student was transported to Lansing’s Sparrow Hospital around 12:24 p.m. Monday after falling while in-line skating, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The student was skating on the north side of Wells Hall when he slipped and fell on a pile of wet leaves, hitting his head on the pavement. The student told an East Lansing medic on the scene he was unconscious for about a minute, Willis said.Medics transported him to the hospital because he had not been wearing a helmet and complained of head and back pain.

  • A 20-year-old male student reported three trumpets and their cases stolen from his car between 10 p.m. Sunday and 3 p.m. Monday, Willis said.The student had parked his car in Lot 5 behind the West Circle dorms. When he returned the trumpets were gone. The student says the car was locked. Other items in the car had been disturbed, but nothing else was taken.The missing items are valued at $5,500.SARA LUNEBURG
