Police briefs 11/28/00

A 13-inch color television attached to the wall of the Campbell Hall laundry room was stolen sometime between Tuesday and Sunday, MSU police Detective Tony Willis said.The theft was reported by the building’s assistant manager. An unknown person or persons cut the cable wires and unscrewed the bolts connecting it to the wall.Police have no suspects. The television was valued at $300.

  • A 24-year-old female nonstudent reported her car stolen from Spartan Village between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 p.m. Saturday, Willis said.The woman parked her 1999 Ford Escort in front of a friend’s home for the weekend and when she returned the car wasn’t there. She called the MSU police department and discovered the car hadn’t been towed.The vehicle was valued at $16,000.
  • A 22-year-old male student reported his backpack stolen from the lounge in West Shaw Hall Saturday afternoon, Willis said.The man left his bag unattended for around an hour and 45 minutes and when he returned to retrieve it, it was gone. The backpack contained a textbook and a watch, he said. The loss was valued at $50. There are no suspects.SARA LUNEBURG
