Izzone campout continues to be a good time for students

Izzo discouraged by FBI probe, wants more information

Tom Izzo hasn’t placed a firm grasp around the alleged college basketball scandal, but he said he is discouraged by the recent reports surrounding the sport. “Well, disappointment would be the first word I’d use,” Izzo said on Friday as MSU began official practices. “I’m disappointed because I don’t know if anything is any good when it kind of gives you a black eye for your profession, whether it be yours or mine. I’m not sure that I would ever hope something that negative has to be done to clean it up.”

Men's basketball close to full health as practices begin

Head coach Tom Izzo is within reach of a completely healthy team entering the upcoming season. Injuries tormented last season’s roster, with Ben Carter and Gavin Schilling headlining what was an injury-plagued season for MSU after they both suffered knee injuries that forced them to miss the entirety of last season.

Big Ten announces men's and women's basketball TV schedule

The Big Ten announced on Thursday the TV schedule for all teams playing their non-conference opponents. The Spartans play two early Big Ten games against Nebraska on Dec. 3 at home and at Rutgers on Dec. 5.

MSU Basketball to honor Jud Heathcote

The Michigan State athletic department announced yesterday that they will honor the late head coach Jud Heathcote in a variety different ways this upcoming season. The basketball team will honor him by wearing a patch throughout the season. The patch will be unveiled in the near future. The team will also hold a tribute game on Feb 10 against Purdue with former players to be in attendance.
