With my term coming to an end as an MSU men’s basketball beat reporter since the spring, I can’t help but still feel connected to the team.

Fantasy football, week 11
Well, it looks like I struggled with last week’s picks as Greg Camarillo had four catches and Willis McGahee busted out from his slump. Oh well, I went 1-1, so I’m back at it again.
Burress is back for Giants
Former Spartans wide receiver Plaxico Burress returned to the New York Giants practice field Monday after serving a one-game suspension issued by the team’s front office.
Burress was suspended from the team for missing a meeting two weeks ago for what he said was a family emergency.
After the Giants dominating performance over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, I’m sure Burress just wants to get back into the lineup and forget about his past mistake.
Because to be honest, the Giants didn’t even need him this weekend.
His team smoked the Seahawks 44-6 and the Giants receiving corps picked up the slack in his absence.
Domenik Hixon and Sinorice Moss both scored the first career touchdowns in the one-sided victory. Moss wasn’t satisfied with just one touchdown either — he found the end zone again in the fourth quarter.
So Monday when Burress stepped back on the field, he knew all eyes were on him. He was missed in Sunday’s game, but he wasn’t really even needed.
There is no doubt that Burress is the go-to receiver for the undefeated Giants, but now he knows that he isn’t irreplaceable. Hopefully this proves to be a lesson learned for the wide-out and he will be a little more responsible with his decisions.
Family definitely comes first in all situations, but in the wide-world of cell phones, Burress could have at least called the Giants office and let them know of his situation. I’m sure they would have understood or something could have been arranged to sort out the situation.
But now that Burress is back in the lineup, expect the Super Bowl-defending Giants to keep winning games by a wide margin en route to a long playoff run.
