Workshop trains students to rock

March 4, 2010

Using the name of Jack Black’s 2003 film, “The School of Rock,” the MSU Community Music School is offering a workshop on everything there is to know about being in a rock band.

The workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 13 at the MSU Community Music School, 841 Timberlane St. Any middle- or high school-aged students with some experience on guitar, bass, keyboard, drums or vocals are welcome at the workshop.

With the assistance of the band The Outer Vibe, students in attendance will learn how to create, perform in and promote their own rock band.

Cost of the workshop is $60, including a pizza lunch.

For more information, call MSU Community Music School at (517) 355-7661.
