Police brief 02/03/10

By Kate Jacobson (Last updated: 02/03/10 12:43am)

MSU student’s valuables stolen from gym

A 29-year-old male MSU student reported various personal belongings stolen at IM Sports-West on Jan. 28, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The man said he put his belongings in a locker at IM Sports-West between 8:50 and 9:30 p.m. He said when he returned to the locker room, his pants were lying on a bench, and his credit card, driver’s license, $50 in cash and a gift card valued at $50 was taken out of his pants.

His locker still was locked, however, McGlothian-Taylor said it appears the man left his pants out of the locker.

There are no suspects and the incident still is under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.

Well, maybe this guy listened as I keep telling people to LOCK UP YOUR STUFF. But do I now have to explain to people that you need the goods on the OPPOSITE side of the locked locker for it to be effective?

Slow down and think about what your doing, it will really help prevent mistakes like this. I did the same thing one time (but it was my coat) and now I slow down and think more about what I am doing. College occupies so much of our mind, just take a moment to slow down. ;P
