E.L. city council to appoint mayor
By Kate Jacobson (Last updated: 11/16/09 9:37pm)The East Lansing City Council will appoint a new mayor and mayor pro tem at its 7:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall, 410 Abbot Road.
Current Mayor Vic Loomis and Councilmember Kevin Beard also will be sworn in at the meeting. Both Loomis and Beard were re-elected to their council seats Nov. 3. Loomis has served on City Council since 2001 and Beard has served since 2005.
The mayor and mayor pro tem are appointed by council members.
