You are dead on Alex. As a two-time alum of Michigan State, and a long time sufferer of mediocrity, it is nice to be genuinely (and understandably) optimistic about the upcoming season and beyond. The announcement about expanded seating fits well with the general enthusiasm that has surrounded the 2008 team. 8 wins is well within their grasp this year, and possibly a New Year’s Day bowl game if they can get a 9th win.

Great article. I was unsure about purchasing tickets for this upcoming season but upon reading this article I am filled with hope for the future of MSU smash mouth football. I will now definitely be buying tickets to see this new era of Spartan football take to the gridiron.

What about smashmouth defense? I hate to be a nay-sayer…and I truly like what I see in MD, but it’s defense that wins championships. Shuting down the opponent, stifling their every move, that’s what will bring back the glory days! John L. forgot about defense; Bobby forgot about…everything. Not since Big George……!!!!

MSU will be back when a defense is built that takes no prisoners. The type of “D” we had under Perles. The type of “D” that would hurt you…demoralize you…bloody you….pummel you….pound you into the dust…send you home broken and battered.

It’s time for SMASHMOUTH “D” to be part of the equation.

	Where is THAT D???
