Why do you think people get crazy on the roads during a holiday weekend?
“More accidents happen over holidays because of drinking, but also because of stress and people paying less attention. There’s also higher traffic rates.”
Anthony Stone
political science and pre-law senior
“People are celebrating, so obviously there’s going to be alcohol involved. They also want to get home after a long day of partying. What I’ll probably do is have one of my cousins who doesn’t drink take me to a family party I’ll be going to.”
Jordan Assenmacher
animal science senior
“Because it’s so busy with everybody around, they feel that it’d be easier to drive instead of just wait for a cab or something. Even if I’m not drinking, I’ll keep a careful eye on the road and watch everyone else out there.”
Kimberly Shaw
psychology junior
“People normally get reckless with alcohol. My plan to stay safe is to stay aware of what I’m doing at all times and who I’m with. A lot of accidents happen when it’s late, after club hours.”

or maybe its because of all the slow morons who drive 10 miles below limit and people who actually have to get somewhere have to take action and somehow get past these morons and thus have to do sharp turns and maneuvers. Another thing is its HOT, and gas prices rising people don’t use their A/Cs and therefore get very hot and nervous.
