MSU hockey team announces captains
By Alex DiFilippo (Last updated: 05/20/08 5:14pm)Senior goaltender Jeff Lerg will wear the “C” for the MSU hockey team next season, head coach Rick Comley announced Tuesday.
“Our past leaders are gone so now it’s time for me to step up and be a leader,” Lerg said.
Seniors Tim Kennedy, Tim Crowder and Brandon Gentile were named alternate captains, but Comley said he expects Kennedy to sign with the Buffalo Sabres.
“I think that it’s going to happen,” Comley said. “But if he returned he might be the best player in the country.”
