Police Brief 04/24/08

Stereo system stolen from dorm weight room

About $1,000 worth of stereo equipment was stolen from the McDonel Hall weight room sometime between April 16 and 2 p.m. Monday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A 23-year-old male student employee reported the theft after returning to the weight room, where he works, to find the stereo system missing, McGlothian-Taylor said. Individuals without weight room passes sometimes sneak in after weight room members leave, McGlothian-Taylor said. Police believe that might be how the stereo equipment was stolen.

Students are going to have to attend MSU naked, and without any property,
then they will be free of the Thieves!!!!!!!!!!

So if I’m reading this correctly sometime between 4/16 and 2pm on 4/21 this stuff was stolen. I used to live in McDonel and there were people down there every day from probably 5pm to 9 or 10 whenever they closed. How could nobody notice or mention it in that time?

I always see these police briefs in the State News and I have a question. Do the Police (pigglies) ever solve any of these? As far as I can tell, I pay the police to write me speeding tickets for going 30 in a 25. That is all they do, write speeding tickets and record thefts in a book, they don’t solve or help in anyway. Please people, tell me something good the ELPD/MSU police have done lately beside cause a riot.

hey #1, you missed out on a key point. they DO do something worth while. they hand out MIP’s to kids just to score an absurd amount of money. thats how they get money for their doughnut fund, though. Hey, the more doughnuts they eat, the slower they run. i guess it all works out in the end…

Solving these crimes would not bring in any money, so why solve them? MSU students should all just pay a tax to private investigators who only solve crimes. It would be better than paying MSU or ELPD to do anything.

Piggly.

1) How do you really expect them to ever find any of this stuff? The stuff that gets stolen (cash, electronics, etc..) are not particularly unique or recoverable. When it’s stolen, it’s gone.

2) I am a staff member on campus and can personally attest that the MSU/EL PD are helpful people and do respond to serious issues on campus.
