Police briefs 04/06/06

A 36-year-old university employee reported a 10-gallon tub of peanut butter caramel ice cream stolen from the International Center loading dock between 1:00 and 1:30 a.m. Saturday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The ice cream was taken from a large freezer in the loading dock area, and the value is $24. An unknown female is suspected of the theft. The International Center was hosting the fourth annual Battle of the Bands on Friday night.A 47-year-old university employee reported his car scratched with keys between 5 and 10 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot near Hubbard Hall, McGlothian-Taylor said. There are no suspects, and the damage is expected to be at least $300.An 18-year-old student reported a 20-year-old man from Muskegon forced his way into her West Shaw Hall room without permission Monday, McGlothian-Taylor said. The two had dated previously, and the student said she does not want to press charges. The man was given a trespassing letter, which forbids him from coming to campus for one year.Melissa Domsic
