E.L. residents attend council work session to voice concerns on City Center II

The shirts reflected local concern that the size of the $117 million development will affect accessibility of the park, said Alice Dreger, an East Lansing resident.

Graduate employees union's new contract takes effect
Updated Wed 11:46pmAfter months of negotiations with the university, the Graduate Employees Union’s new three-year contract will go into effect tomorrow.
The contract was ratified by 97 percent of the union’s general membership through an online vote with no changes from the tentative agreement the union reached with the university on April 22.

Trustees to vote on new position, linking programs
Updated Wed 11:45pmAfter an eight-year, $1.4 billion campaign ended in October, the MSU Board of Trustees is considering linking two of the university’s largest outreach programs to help increase fundraising.
At its meeting Friday, the board will vote to add a vice president for advancement that would oversee University Development and the MSU Alumni Association.
“It seems to be a trend across the country,” Trustee Colleen McNamara said.

While 34 buildings deemed too expensive to repair are being demolished at Spartan Village, Wharton Center is receiving its first repairs in 25 years.
E.L. police captain up for position in Kalamazoo
