Despite the blowout loss to Ohio State, the Spartans are ranked No. 17 in the third College Football Playoff ranking.

The Spartans were No. 12 going into their matchup against Ohio State.

MSU came in No. 22 in the AP poll, No. 24 in the Coaches poll earlier this week.

Three Big Ten teams scratched the top-10: No. 5 Wisconsin, No. 9 Ohio State and No. 10 Penn State. Two other Big Ten teams — No. 23 Northwestern and No. 24 Michigan – rounded out the conference in the rankings.

The 7-3 Spartans take on Maryland Saturday for a 4 p.m. kickoff. The game will be Senior Day as a handful of MSU players will compete in their last game at Spartan Stadium.
