MSUPD submits warrant requests for MSU football investigation

Update 3:30 p.m.

"I have asked the MSU Police Department to continue that investigation and submit to our office additional information and evidence," Ingham County Prosecutor Carol Siemon said in the statement released Thursday afternoon.

After the materials are reviewed, Siemon will make a decision on charges for the alleged sexual assault, according to the statement.


Update 9:25 a.m.

“I think it’s good that the process is moving along,” the victim’s lawyer Karen Truszkowski said. “I think the appropriate steps have been taken.”

Truszkowski said she plans to release an official statement this afternoon.


The MSU Police Department has submitted warrant requests to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office for the alleged sexual assault involving three MSU football players and a staff member, according to a press release from the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office. 

According to the press release, the prosecutor's office will "review all of the available evidence and information and make a review decision in the short-term future."

On Feb. 9, MSU released the news that three football players and a staff member were suspended from the football team pending a sexual assault investigation.
