Dear Friend,

We have been close friends for so long. I really appreciate all the moments we have spent together. My life would not be as fun or enjoyable without you. I typically leave politics out of personal relationships, however there is something we must speak about — Hillary Clinton.

I understand in a world inundated with micro-aggressions, trigger warnings and safe spaces it might be the vogue choice to support Hillary Clinton. As a college student, I understand the world you live in, it is hard to take a stance on something that is not popular. However, do not fall into the trap of supporting Hillary Clinton!

Hillary Clinton is a shady person. She has been surrounded by controversy for more than two decades. Can we really trust a person to be the leader of our country who has accepted millions of dollars from foreign governments, is bankrolled by special interests, left our ambassador to die in Benghazi and can’t even use a State Department email because it would inconvenience her?

Furthermore, Hillary Clinton won a rigged primary. The Democratic National Committee favored her throughout the primary. I truly feel bad for my friends who got involved in politics to support Bernie Sanders — Bernie was robbed! What the DNC did for Hillary is not healthy for our democracy.

In a recent CNN poll 68 percent of Americans said Hillary Clinton isn’t honest and trustworthy. Can we really have the leader of the free world being someone the vast majority of us cannot trust?

I am friends with you because you are an honest and trustworthy person. Those are the type of people I like to fill my life with. I hope you look for the same in friends and people you want leading your country.

Your Friend,

Charlie
