With MSU's bye week this past weekend, junior wide receiver R.J. Shelton used the time-off to do something special for children in his hometown.

During the weekend, Shelton went back to his hometown of Beaver Dam, Wisc., to make a surprise visit at the local elementary schools. Shelton spoke with the kids about the importance of working hard, respect, football and education. He gave out some autographed bookmarks as well.

Shelton's visit came in response to fan mail he received from the students, as well as many other fans and friends in the area.
