MSU Police make arrest in packaging building threat

November 25, 2015

Update: 3:30 p.m.

MSU Police identified and arrested a suspect this morning after following up on a number of investigative leads.

Additional security measures undertaken as a result of this threat have been suspended.

The case will be referred to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges.

On Tuesday evening, MSU Police were alerted to an anonymous threat written on a wall in the School of Packaging, according to a statement by MSU Spokesman Jason Cody.

The anonymous threat was specific and directed at the building, but it is now secure and faculty are being allowed inside.

Classes for Wednesday have been reassigned from the packaging building to different locations as a precaution.

Details about the style and content of the threat are being withheld pending the completion of the investigation. MSU Police is working in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, or FBI, to pinpoint who made the threat.
