Dantonio to serve as ESPN analyst for College Football Playoff National Championship

January 12, 2015

MSU football head coach Mark Dantonio will be analyzing the two teams that defeated the Cotton Bowl champions on national television.

Dantonio, whose team is coming off of an explosive victory over Baylor, the co-Big 12 conference champions, on New Year's Eve in Arlington, Texas, will be back at the site of his fourth straight bowl win today in front of the camera.

According to an official release by the MSU athletic department, Dantonio will take part in the College Football Playoff National Championship television coverage leading up to Ohio State's push toward their first national championship since 2002 as they get set to take on the Oregon Ducks at AT&T Stadium.

Dantonio is set to appear on "SportsCenter" from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. At 2 p.m. he will be featured on ESPN Radio with Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo. He will appear on "College Football Live" at 3 p.m and on "BTN Live" at 6 p.m. Finally, he'll be on "College GameDay: Championship Drive" at 7 p.m.

"They're both outstanding football teams and they both are extremely deserving of getting there," Dantonio told the Detroit News last week. "They've both proven by winning the championship game and then also being champions within their conference to represent."

It's expected that the former Buckeyes defensive coordinator will provide a unique perspective of these two teams, considering that MSU was also the only program this season to compete on the same field with both teams.
