UPDATE: Deceased woman identified as MSU student from China

UPDATE, Sunday 10:30 a.m.: Police have identified the deceased woman as Jiayi Dai, an MSU student from Beijing, China. 

MSU Spokesman Jason Cody said the university is mourning the loss of Dai, and counseling is being made available for members of the campus community.

"Staff members from MSU's Student Affairs and Services and Office for International Students and Scholars have reached out to her family to provide whatever support they can," Cody said in a statement.

A 19-year-old woman was pronounced dead around 7:45 a.m. when the East Lansing Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive person at an address in the 300 block of Pin Oak Lane.

According to a release from the ELPD, foul play is not suspected and excessive alcohol consumption might have been a factor.
