MSU announced on Friday sophomore defensive back Ezra Robinson requested and has been granted a release from his scholarship.

With the departure of Darqueze Dennard and Isaiah Lewis at the end of last season, Robinson was in competition with MSU's other defensive backs to replace the former "No Fly Zone" stalwarts.

According to MSU associate athletic director John Lewandowski, the Sarasota, Fla. native has not yet revealed a destination.

Robinson appeared in 12 games last season, usually with special teams. He had an encouraging showing in the 2014 MSU Green and White Spring Game, recording an interception and pass breakup.
