An MSU student has died from complications with a gunshot wound following a shooting that occurred on Cedar Street Friday night.
Hospitality business sophomore Dominique James Nolff died early Saturday morning, Sparrow Hospital spokesman John Tramontana confirmed.
Many who knew Nolff have taken to social media to express their grief and condolences to his loved ones.
Another student who was shot was released from Sparrow Hospital early Saturday morning.
Although police decline to comment on any circumstances surrounding the incident, East Lansing police said in a statement they believe the shooting, which occurred in the 200 block of Cedar Street, was not random.
Police have not made any arrests. The suspect reportedly is a black male of average height and build between the ages of 20-25, police say. He was last seen wearing tan pants, a black coat and black shoes or boots.
