Enrollment in most, least popular MSU majors varies

February 17, 2013

With a variety of majors to choose from at MSU, some stand out more than others.

For advertising senior Rob Smith, creative advertising was the perfect fit.

“Coming to MSU, I felt I wanted a job that wasn’t monotonous,” Smith said. “You’re always doing something creative, and you’re always productive.”

For others, math and numbers are the way to go.

“What I like most is more of the logistics and transportation (side),” supply chain management senior David Renier said. “It’s the view of business that isn’t seen in the public. It’s the background information that people don’t see much of.”

Psychology junior Jentay Bailey said she changed her major to psychology after realizing the difficulty of the rigorous courses required for human biology majors.

“The sciences were too hard,” Bailey said. “Psychology felt like it was a good fit.”

The State News analyzed data from the Office of the Registar to find some of the most, and least, popular majors this year.
