ASMSU votes in support of adding fitness access fee to tuition

January 24, 2013

ASMSU, MSU’s undergraduate student government, voted in support of a fitness plan fee included in students’ tuition, with an opt-out option, at its general assembly meeting Thursday night.

All representatives decided to pass the fitness bill, which if implemented by administration, would allow student access to all IM-sports facilities on campus. The access fee would be included in students’ tuition.

Lyman Briggs College representative James Conwell, who was pushing for the bill, explained how the plan could improve many student’s lives.

“Students who are healthy do better in school,” Conwell said.
