Now ranked No. 13 in the country, McClure pinned his first round opponent, Jory Hamilton in less than a minute.
In rounds two and three, he wrestled to the same score of 6-1 against Olivet’s Jake Ceslick and Lindsey Wilson’s Theodore Furnish.
In the semifinals, McClure defeated Edinboro’s No. 19 Ernest James 4-2, then took down No. 8 Jeremy Johnson of Ohio to win the title.
The next time the Spartans hit the mat will be at 7 p.m. Friday when they travel to Eastern Michigan.
