Voter registration will close on Oct. 9

October 7, 2012

Tomorrow marks the last day citizens can register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election.

Anyone interested in registering before the Oct. 9 deadline must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the jurisdiction in which they register.

Interested voters can register by mail or at a local clerk or Secretary of State office. The East Lansing City Clerk’s office is located on the first floor of City Hall, 410 Abbot Road.

Students who have residency away from MSU also can vote via absentee ballot, which can be obtained in a local clerk’s office or online. Absentee ballots must be submitted by Nov. 3.

Polls on Nov. 6 will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Check michigan.gov/vote for a sample ballot and specified polling locations.
