Shaw Hall, Union will finish on time

The Shaw Hall dining facility and Union renovations both are on schedule to be completed on time, project representatives said Wednesday during the MSU Physical Plant’s monthly construction junction meeting.

Construction Planner Chris Barnes said the construction of Shaw Hall’s dining facility still is expected to be completed by Dec. 14 and will be ready for students at the beginning of spring semester.

The Shaw Hall plan also includes the removal of parking lot 37 next to the residence hall. Barnes said the team won’t be able to start the project until May and the space will be converted to a “green space,” as proposed in the Campus Master Plan.

Union construction is slated be completed around Nov. 2 and will feature the cafeteria, a new welcome desk and a new Sparty’s location, Construction Representative Tony Rhodes said.
