Detroit – As the Spartans left halftime down more than 20 points, the mood outside Ford Field was somber and disappointing among fans. Compared to Saturday’s crowd of some 5,000 fans, not many fans were gathered outside the arena tonight. A couple dozen were seen leaving Ford Field at halftime, with about 100 people mingling outside.
To call the 41-37 game between the MSU women’s basketball team and in-state rival, Michigan, a defensive battle would be an understatement.
It came down to one last shot. After 32 years, 320 wins and countless goals scored, the coaching career of men’s soccer coach Joe Baum came down to a penalty kick.
All of the questions facing the MSU men’s basketball team were answered resoundingly Wednesday night with a 118-57 drubbing of Northern Michigan.
