In front of over 3,600 people, the MSU volleyball team hosted the No. 7 team in the nation, the University of Florida, over the weekend in the Auto-Owners Spartan Invitational. While the Spartans fell in straight sets to Florida, they had a winning weekend, going 2-1.
The MSU volleyball team lost on Sunday to #7, University of Florida Gators, and were swept in three sets. The Gators beat the Spartans 25-13 in the first set, 25-16 in the second and completed the sweep with 25-19 set victory in the third. Florida was the highest ranked opponent MSU faced during the SPartan Invitational, after sweeping both Morgan State and Central Michigan on Saturday.
The MSU volleyball team swept both games Saturday against Morgan State University and Central Michigan University. MSU held both team to 10% and under success rate, Morgan State had 8.2%, while Central Michigan had a 10% success rate throughout the game, compared to the Spartans 30.7% and 31.5%.
